Combat Systema was created by Kevin Secours. He compiled the art from what he learned from his Russian Systema instructors, Vladimir Vasiliev and Mikel Ryabko. Combat systema is a reality based no nonsense martial art that is engineered to help the practitioner get out of any situation.
Mr. Prescott began studying Combat Systema in 2014 and is currently an Apprentice Instructor under Kevin Secours.
Training is based on the pillars of Combat Systema:
4 Continuous Movement
Every class involves these principles. Within these principles are drills to enhance each one individually as well as compliment the others. Combat Systema is a holistic martial art as it takes into account the entire person, not just individual parts. Systema includes self defense at all levels from standing up, ground, in a car , in water etc. Essentially, your environment is your training ground.
Combat Systema also demands the use of pressure testing. Those methods, tactics, and techniques that do not hold up under pressure are re-evaluated and either a proper use is found for them or they are discarded all together.
Classes will include Breathing exercises, warm up exercises, ground work, hand to hand combat, defense against weapons and defense against multiple attackers. Every class is different and each person goes at their own pace.
There are restorative exercises that are done as well. The objective is to leave training feeling revitalized and energized. Not depleted and drained. The philosophy is to Heal in Training.
